A musician in the park. I asked if I could take his photo he asked me why, I told him about the 10-10 project and he said he's not particularly found of having his photo taken and would rather not. I told him I understood and put my camera down. Then he asked me what song was in my heart and I told him Billy Holiday. When he played I could her Lady Day sing through his saxophone. I stayed and listened for a while and then gave him a dollar. Then he said, "You stayed and listened, you can take my picture. Most people don't stay and listen." These photos have not been altered except for the right image which I cropped and turned black and white. I thought I should keep his identity a little secret until you can stop. And listen. |
