A day in Savannah

A musician in the park. I asked if I could take his photo he asked me why, I told him about the 10-10 project and he said he's not particularly found of having his photo taken and would rather not. I told him I understood and put my camera down. Then he asked me what song was in my heart and I told him Billy Holiday. When he played I could her Lady Day sing through his saxophone. I stayed and listened for a while and then gave him a dollar. Then he said, "You stayed and listened, you can take my picture. Most people don't stay and listen." These photos have not been altered except for  the right image which I cropped and turned black and white. I thought I should keep his identity a little secret until you can stop. And listen.

Bike in the park, the shade from tall trees covered in Spanish moss. Happy people laying and playing in the April sunshine.

I learned something new today. Rocks left on a Jewish grave. Some cultures leave flowers, rocks however don't wilt. This grave had many visitors.

Three houses from the same street. All fascinating and beautiful.

Sometimes when there is so much to look at I miss things. I love looking through the photos I took during the day and not only remembering but also discovering. I never noticed the amazing living stairs this house had until after I uploaded  the photo.

Mrs. Wilkes Dinning Room. Visited by our President . It's about a two hour wait in line, you sit down at a dinning table with about 9 other people and they bring out the food. Bowls and dishes that never end. Amazing Southern cooking, pass the Rutabagas? Yes please! Worth every second in line.
One of the cooks at Mrs. Wilkes coming out to see how big the line is. It always reaches around the corner of the block. but he's a happy guy because the food is magic, everyone leaves Mrs. Wilkes with a smile as big as his.

Tybee Island. I almost stayed the night but I was worried if I stayed the night, I'd stay the week and then maybe I'd stay forever.
